Screen cracked and damaged after repair!

Took iPad in with a crushed screen and spent $120. Brought it home and all of a sudden the screen cracked in three spots and top is crushed in !!! Take your phone or iPad to Apple and no one else. It was a few days and they would not honor any warranty.

$80 to fix a $40 device!

$80 to fix a $40 device! No detailed diagnostics, and they are charging me for return shipping! I mailed a Jambox Mini in just to have it restored to factory settings. They quoted me $80!!! I was supposed to get a detailed quote explaining the diagnostic and detail of the repair. Instead I got an email that read: "We can fix this device for $79.99. Just let us know how to proceed. Thank you." Mind you, a JamBox Mini currently retails for $40! Why would I pay $80? So I asked for a return, and they are charging me for shipping since T&Cs say if you don't have them do the repair, you forfeit a free return. Their business model is simple. They overquote on older devices like mine so you they can keep them. They know I won't pay $10 to have a broken device shipped back to me. Do not give these thieves your business!

Resolved: Waiting for police to arrive ....

Ifuxyouri has been concealing a theft they experienced where a regional supervisor stole peoples devices from the company and skipped town. I had to pry this information out of the present regional supervisor . I have been patiently waiting to get my iPad back for a year. They have made no effort whatsoever to contact me or rectify the matter. I’m worried for all the people aside from myself whose personal / account information has been stolen and is now out in the open . I am waiting at the store on Okeechobee in West Palm Beach to file the police report and pass it on to my attorney. I am also going to notify the media about this theft and release of peoples personal information .

Resolved: Houston We Have a Problem

Update by user May 11, 2018

Company president contacted me directly and personally delivered me a brand new iPad to replace mine. It was a Legitimate gesture to make amends and correct matters . I look forward to seeing the steps they take as a company to improve because They have great potential as a company if they put the right people in their front lines.

I’ve been waiting for my IPad to be returned to me since last year. Then January of this year I received a phone call from a regional manager assuring my that the issue would be resolved within the week. Well... it’s now Mid April with no word from Corporate . So I called them and the guy in the other end proceeds to tell me that the regional manager handling my case has disappeared along with money and merchandise and that they have no idea where my IPad is. Nice Right? And then I’m offered the guys name in case I want to Pursue legal action against the guy that ripped of the company!! Insane right? I turned my iPad over to this company and they want to burden me with THEIR problems! Let’s see how much longer before I get an iPad back . NOTE: Ive had to pay $800 to get another iPad while they’ve held mine hostage.

I'm a senior in college who struggled through weeks without a laptop thanks to ifixyouri. This company is completely terrible at communicating with its customers without an incredible amount of prodding, prioritizes "corporate" customer repairs over those which arrive before them, and ultimately failed to live up to any of their promises to repair my device, and might have even caused more harm than good in the end. Hopefully the following essay will help steer anyone looking to get their computer fixed far, far away from these people. After spilling a small amount of tea onto the keyboard of my relatively new MacBook Air and knowing that AppleCare wouldn't save me, I looked up a third party repair company that would be able to fix water damage. Ifixyouri promised a 90% success rate and a fast turnaround time, so I placed my order online and paid extra for overnight shipping from Maine down to Florida and back. I made my purchase on January 25th, and they received my computer on January 26th. The following six weeks were an absolute nightmare. I must have called the service line 15 times trying to get answers as to what was happening with my laptop. The following is a timeline of the events during that period. Jan 27-Feb. 3: After a few days of no email update, I called the customer service multiple times to try to get some information. Each time the representative (female, with a high voice) was nice enough (although clearly eager to only give me the bare minimum information that I asked for), checked with the technician, and let me know that the computer went through initial testing, then one round of water damage repair (unsuccessful), then another round (successful, the laptop turned on) and identification that there was something wrong with the keyboard. I asked for a timeframe on the repair, and she said it was a same day repair and would be done soon. Feb. 4: I receive a clearly copy-pasted in some section email update from the technician, who informed me that my computer was working well but needed a new keyboard, which would cost $149.99. I immediately replied and agreed to the repair and to pay the extra cost, but got no confirmation/response. Feb. 5-15: After more days of no contact, I called again for an update and was informed that they had ordered the part (something they hadn't informed me they would have to do) and that it would take 5-7 business days to arrive. Feb. 17: I call again, and have been told that the keyboard part had arrived the previous day. I am assured the repair will be completed soon. Feb. 18-24: I have not received an update on my "one-day" repair. I call multiple times, and am informed at one point by the same customer service woman that due to a significant number of "corporate repairs" needing to be done my repair had not yet been completed. One call, I let the (different) customer service agent know that it's been more than a month of waiting and she's surprised and comments "that's a long time, you've been very patient" (I know). During one call after expressing (rather sadly/frustratedly) that I didn't understand why it was taking so long, I get transferred abruptly to speak with the technician (Steven), who tells me it should be fixed that day and that I'll receive an email when it it finished. He assures me that outgoing testing will only take 1-2 days to check that everything with the laptop is fine, and that once my balance is paid my laptop will be sent back to me. Feb. 24: I receive an email update from the technician that my computer keyboard was fixed and had been sent to outgoing testing. Feb 25-Feb 28: No update from the company. Mar 1: I receive an email update that my computer is ready to ship. I call the customer service number and pay my open balance an hour after I receive the email. Soon afterwards I receive a tracking number via the email (no message, just a number) that I plug into the UPS website, which tells me that despite paying $25 extra for overnight shipping, the company has printed out a Ground Service shipping label for my laptop! I frantically call the customer service line hoping that it hasn't been shipped yet -- thankfully it hasn't, but the customer service woman wasn't exactly apologetic and says "oh I must have just not noticed the note on your ticket." But the problem is fixed and I receive a new tracking number. Mar. 2: 37 days after I sent my laptop, I receive it back in the middle of finals week. I plug it in and turn it on, and -what a surprise- the trackpad is sticky/won't click fully because the new keyboard has been installed poorly. I have long since decided at this point that I will never use ifixyouri again, so I decide I can live with it (or at least until I can get a competent local tech to look at it.) March 4: In the middle of working on a project, my laptop shuts down unexpectedly. Thinking I had just not noticed the battery drain, I plug it in it starts again to show the battery at 68%, but as soon as I take the charging cable off it shuts down again. Something is wrong with the battery. I do just about everything known to the internet to fix/diagnose the problem (restart it, try another charging cord, download the coconutbattery app, reset the SMC, even wipe the laptop completely and reinstall OSX), but to no avail. Occasionally it will last for a few minutes without the cable, but sometimes it shuts down with the cable connected, and sometimes it just says the battery isn't connected at all. Mar. 6: I give up. I take the old computer to a local repair shop, who after a day say it's either physical damage to the battery connection, or physical damage to the logic board - neither of which were caught during ifixyouri's "outgoing testing," and likely weren't caused by the original liquid damage. I'm leaving the country in a few weeks for my senior thesis research and decide that I just have to *** the bullet for a new laptop, because who knows what sort of new problems might come up in the future even after I have to pay for these new issues to get fixed? March 9: My new laptop arrives. I am grateful that my tax return this year ended up being big enough that I can still pay for rent too. Thus ends a 6+ week saga with ifixyouri that got me absolutely nowhere except for $262.49 + the cost of a replacement laptop lost and a lot of wisdom gained about not trusting in companies to actually have your best interest at heart. I've seen that ifixyouri sometimes replies to these reviews and to be completely honest, unless they're offering a full and complete refund of my repair costs, I never want to speak to them (or hear their *** customer service hold music) ever again. Anyone looking to go to them in the future would be wise to go elsewhere -- find a repair shop where you can actually talk to people face to face, and where they've retained a shred of dignity and honesty in dealing with customers.

Positive Review

I saw these negative reviews so I just wanted to share my experience. I already posted this on Yelp, but I wanted to post it here too just so everyone doesn't read only "pissed off" reviews. My stepson spilled water on my $2,000 MacBook pro. It was making clicking noises and the trackpad wasn't working very well at all. I almost-instantly wiped off the water, powered it off, and put it in a trash bag with rice standing upside down (not having the rice sitting on top of the laptop, which would be bad) for about a week. I later googled it and found that there are probably better ways to deal with the moisture (oh well). I used the information on ifixyouri.com to decide generally what I should do and decided to stay with my rice trick. And I then decided that since it is so expensive, that I would rather be better safe than sorry and shelled out $60 for them to do their cleaning services. I never tried to power it back on. I just sent it to them. It was pretty easy. I think I paid about $15 for shipping. They emailed me and let me know that they cleaned it, it powered on fine, and then they shipped it back to me. It is working perfectly, so I am very happy with everything. The only thing I would say that wasn't ideal is that their initial email just said that everything tested fine, but they were going to do "outgoing testing" and then if that was fine, they would ship it back to me and email me the tracking number. But I never got an email, I just got my laptop in the mail a few days later. I don't really care too much about that though, as long as my laptop is fine. I will add one thing. It is very possible that my rice-trick took care of everything and that the spill wasn't very bad, and that I didn't need to pay them for their services. But, I am glad that I paid for it, as the cost was a very small fraction of what a new laptop would cost me. So, if you are in a similar situation, I highly recommend doing it too.

Water damaged iPhone 6

Sent my iphone in for water damage evaluation and was told it could not be fixed. I could pay to have it returned or sell it to them for $50. I agreed to sell and was required to remove the phone from my Apple account. When I called I was told it could take 7-10 days for reimbursement to my paypal account. After 10 days, I emailed to follow up on my buyback status, and was told it could take 2-3 weeks depending on how many were ahead of my in "***". This is now 4 weeks, and no email, no PayPal payment, nothing! So, they have my phone (who really knows if it isn't repairable), it is free and clear from my Apple account, and I have nothing! If this doesn't smell like a scam, then I don't know what does. Shame on me for believing they are upfront and honest! Try a different company!

Worst company ever

They tried to scam me for $390 to fix my water-damaged iPhone 6. This is how they do it: The support team will initiate the water treatment procedure. This is done to fix the board's connectors. Shortly after, they'll warn you that your water-damaged equipment needs "deeper" treatment. They know this is needed due to the phone not showing anything on the screen. The $89 treatment is supposed to clean the logic board. Mind you, they are able to connect the phone to iTunes and erase it. Obviously there is no board-related problem. A week after, they will tell you that everything is fine but that you will require a new LCD and a new battery. After all this, It is obvious to me that the phone did NOT require a "deeper-cleaning" for $89. If anything, a new screen at most. 1. $49 for cleaning the logic board AKA CPU 2. $89 to replace the LCD output on the logic board AKA CPU 3. $70 to install the battery and LCD 4. $129 for new LCD 5. $49 for new battery

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and can assure you that we do not try to extract monies from customers for manufactured issues with phones. Water damage treatment is difficult and it is not always successful.

Many times, once we restore power to a device that has been water damaged, other issues present themselves that we would otherwise have no way of knowing until the device was powered on. Although we empathize with you, we can assure you that we always try our best and we never try to charge customers for repairs that we do not find essential.

BOTCHED REPAIR OF CELL PHONE

ifixYouri was hired to repair the USB Charging Port on a Samsung S3 on a recent Friday morning. I was told it would be ready by Monday morning, so I showed up at noon on Monday. They advised me that it was still not complete, so I picked it up around 6pm on Monday. That evening I noticed that neither microphone was working, so I immediately took it back in. Devin, the manager, immediately admitted that he had failed to properly shield and protect the board when he was repairing the USB port which resulted in alcohol spreading to other parts of the mainboard (it should be noted that the microphones are on opposite ends of the phone. How they both went bad is still a question). Thus they had to replace both microphones (one at the top and one at the bottom of the phone). I waited an additional 48 hours for this repair. I then picked it up and on the way home noticed that the auto rotate feature of the phone was not working. Devin said it was the accelerometer/gyroscope that was broken, although he denied it was the result of any of the work they did since the accelerometer was on the opposite side of the phone from the USB charging port. It was just “happenstance” that it went bad when they were repairing my phone. Nevertheless he offered to repair it at no charge, admitting that THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE PHONE if they were unsuccessful. The attempt failed and Devin consulted with “upper management” who decided that they never said they’d replace it. I then attempted to re-load Supra e-key application on the phone. This app crashed when I attempted to open it. Supra advised me to check my memory card for adequate space. It was then that I noticed that my memory card was not installed in the phone. I called ifixYouri and Devin claimed that my 32gb memory card was not installed when I gave them the phone. Upon replacing it with a new card I attempted to reload Supra e-key and it still would not work as it did before ifixYouri attempted any repair. So I bought an identical phone from Best Buy and all applications immediately worked upon installation. Needless to say I’m EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH ifixYouri’s services. I’ve presented this review as factually as I can in order for the reader to make their own judgment of the services provided.

This customer came in for a charge port repair. After the repair, the customer returned with a microphone issue, which we handled at no cost to the customer, even though it is not abundantly clear as to what caused the issue.

When the customer returned for the microphone repair, we noted that the customer had a battery extension pack attached to the phone that replaced the normal battery. This weighed 3 or 4 times more than the phone. This type of weight will cause major damage to components like a gyroscope or accelerometer if dropped. The condition of the tempered glass on this device indicated that the phone had, indeed, been dropped.

Multiple photographs were taken of the device.

The customer indicated that a 32GB SD card was in the phone. However, upon inspection by us of the device, no such card was ever found.

As noted above, the battery pack adds extra weight to the phone which can cause gyroscope damage and the device had evidence that it had been dropped.

That being said, the customer later returned and accused us of damaging the gyroscope, an impossibility as we never attempted to repair it.

We still tried to help him with it and the phone was still functional, except for the gyroscope issue.

The phone at issue is a Samsung Galaxy S3, a device notorious for gyroscope issues. A calibration has been added by Android that addresses this issue, but the client had installed some other third party software on the device that prevented this option for working for this client.

Long story short, we bent over backwards to help here, and while we are apologetic that the customer had a poor experience, we do not believe that we contributed to the device issues currently being reported by the client.

I've learned something VERY IMPORTANT in the last 6 months to a year. The way that businesses fight bad reviews is not to improve their services, but rather to lie about what happened in their responses. Thus from now on I'll simply not look at the responses of the business, but rather simple assume that the business will lie to protect their reputation.

Please Don't Subject Yourself to this Madness

Do not under any circumstances entrust this business with your computer. They have had my computer for TWO MONTHS during which I have been ignored, lied to, and taken advantage of. At the moment, they have failed to respond to my entreaties for information regarding the device for TWO WEEKS. After spilling a small amount of liquid on my computer, and what I thought at the time was an outrageous quote from the apple store, I ended up using the ifixyouri mail-in service. Though the website promises a 90% success rate and 24 hour turn-around except in "severe" cases, an initial assessment of my device was not completed for more than a week and only after I called continuously in an attempt to hasten the process. I was ultimately told that the computer would turn on, but refused to boot. I was told that the only course of action was to repair the logic board at a cost of $300 over 3-5 weeks. When I suggested that such repairs could be done more quickly I was actually laughed at, so, regrettably, I acquiesced. (I have since called several local shops, all of which were appalled at the idea that such a repair might take more than 3-5 DAYS). When the appointed time was drawing to a close I began to ask for updates on my laptop. I was, after weeks of unsuccessfully attempting to extract information, brusquely told that there was an extensive laundry list of other parts on my computer that needed to be repaired or replaced! This list included items that had been deemed operational prior to sending the laptop to ifixyouri (SSD), as well as items that would be easy to diagnose on a totally non-functional computer ("sticky" keyboard, water stained trackpad). When I expressed dissatisfaction that other faults had not been brought to my attention prior to sending the device out for expensive logic board repairs, and additionally noted that the failure to do so was especially grave considering the absurdly long diagnostic timeline, I was met with indignation and lies. I was told that the computer had never turned on during initial diagnosis, that the computer had arrived several days later than it actually had, and it was implied that I must not understand the way that computer repairs work. When I responded with evidence to the contrary regarding the repair timeline and the vastly different standards of other repair organizations, I was met with radio silence.... I still have no idea where my computer is, much less when it will be repaired or returned. In short, just don't. I'm sure there are many, many, other places that deserve your business and will not kidnap your computer and treat you like a mark.

Ipad2 Repair

I sent my water damaged Ipad2 into this company and did not receive any feedback for 2 weeks. I had to call every time to get an update. After 2 weeks they finally said "Unfortunately even after the cleaning process the logic board was beyond our repair." I asked if any of my money would be refunded and they said no so I am now out $80 with shipping. My main complaint is it doesn't state clearly that if they are unable to repair it you will be out whatever you pay them. I would never recommend to anyone to use this service.

Unfortunately, water damage treatments are not always successful and this was one of those instances. While we are empathetic to the customer, and we understand the frustration, we wanted to give the customer a fair assessment.

We tried as best as we could to return functionality, but were unfortunately unsuccessful.

As a showing of good faith, we will offer the consumer 15% off any future repair.

Worst Customer Service Known to Man!!

The worst possible customer service EVER! Paid iFixYouri $180 for a repair, and when it failed within the warranty period they wouldn't even inspect my product, answer emails, or return my calls. Seriously, I went to their business and talked to a tech who said he would have the manager (Bayly) call me, and he never did. I contacted corporate and they never returned my calls or emails. Absolutely terrible at caring about the customer after the sale! Unless you have a buttload of money you're wanting to give to a bunch of chimpanees, go somewhere else! I am out my money and left with a broken product... don't let it happen to you.
